B-WISE: Report on trends and challenges for work integration social enterprises (WISEs) in Europe. Current situation of skills gaps, especially in the digital area
In 2022, PIL’s researchers Fabio Belafatti and Lara Bezzina contributed to the “Report on trends and challenges for work integration social enterprises (WISEs) in Europe. Current situation of skills gaps, especially in the digital area”, led by EASPD and EURICSE. The report is part of the assessment of the results of the Blueprint for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills in Work Integration Social Enterprises (B-WISE) project, a large-scale, EU-wide intervention targeting the skills needs of workers with support needs, their supporters (such as their job coaches, trainers) and their managers, as well as other marginalized groups. The project promotes WISEs as a career choice and raises awareness on using digital technologies to help persons at risk of being excluded from the labour market find and retain employment. PIL’s researchers contributed to the report by taking care of the tabulation of large amounts of quantitative survey data, mainly in preparation for the chapter “Technology and Digital Skills gaps in WISEs.”
