Background
Davis Dimu Nana Metang is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies at the European Humanities University in Vilnius. She has also completed a Master’s degree in EU Law at Kazimieras Simonavicius University and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Yaoundé II. She is an advocate and a human rights and legal professional with over five years of experience in legal research, governance, and gender advocacy.
Her expertise includes compliance, policy analysis, access to justice, litigation, research, and gender-responsive governance. She has demonstrated strong capacity in legal documentation, stakeholder engagement, and translating complex regulatory frameworks into practical guidance, particularly in support of marginalised populations and women-led initiatives.
Throughout her career, Davis has worked with law firms and institutions where she has contributed to human rights litigation, compliance monitoring, and governance processes. Her experience includes representing clients in family and human rights cases, including sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), child protection, and exploitation cases, as well as supporting due diligence, regulatory compliance, and institutional accountability mechanisms. She has also contributed to peacebuilding and inclusive governance initiatives by facilitating dialogue between communities, civil society, and public authorities.

Growing up in both the Southwest Region of Cameroon, amid ongoing crises, and in Douala, she has witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by vulnerable communities. This experience has shaped her commitment to justice, equity, and inclusive development. Professionally, she has worked as an advocate and compliance specialist with leading law firms, including Okon Efut, SAN & Co. In Nigeria and several other firms in Cameroon, and has contributed legal expertise to the Nkafu Policy Institute.
Her research with the World Bank on Women, Business and the Law in Cameroon, alongside collaborations with local organisations, reflects her dedication to advancing gender equality, legal empowerment, and access to justice. She continues to leverage her legal expertise to promote inclusive policies, strengthen governance, and ensure that marginalised voices are recognised and supported.
