EASPD promotes the views of over 20,000 social services and their umbrella associations to promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities through effective and high-quality service systems. The PIL team including Elma Paulauskaitė, Lara Bezzina, Andrius Tursa, Ieva Giedraitytė and inclusion experts across the EU developed Country Fact Sheets on Social Care & Support Services Sector for Persons with Disabilities on all EU Member States. The factsheets, are based on desk research and interviews with experts and policy makers, reflect the state of play of the social care and support services sector for persons with disability – namely the type of services available for the different life-course stages from Early Childhood Interevention to Long-term Institutional Care and Supported Living. Each subsection features information on the nature of service providers, their target groups (age range, type of disability) their financing and governance, as well as any plans for substantial reform or regulation relating to this type of service delivery. These comparative standardized fact-sheets, available on the EASPD website in English and national languages, serve as a step towards achieving a clearer picture of the extent of relevant services available in different EU countries.
