Public Speaking Training for the Youth of Lithuania is a project of the British Council and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) International Awards focused on building young peoples’ confidence in public speaking and encouraging critical thinking, with a focus on locales with a high rate of linguistic minorities. Adopting a mixed-methods approach involving direct observation, interviews, pre-and post-training surveys and a review of documents, the evaluation assessed the impact on training participants, their schools and communities. The evaluators gathered stories of change from participating youths illustrating how skills learned in the program supported civic activism, and how the adopted experiential learning approach supported the outcomes.
