PIL's researcher Nina Ždanovič, alongside with a colleague Veronika Kubekova from Blomeyer & Sanz are conducting a study on current and future uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in social care for persons with disabilities, commissioned by the European Assosiation of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD). The study combined desktop research with semi-structured interviews involving stakeholders from national agencies, NGOs, academia, and IT development. Using inductive-deductive thematic coding, the team explored how AI is being integrated into social services. It identified key challenges, showcased promising practices, and offered practical resources for care providers. Published by EASPD, the study has informed cross-sector dialogue and capacity-building, with findings shared in two webinars reaching professionals across Europe.
