Study on Transition from Special Education to Inclusive Education Systems

The study focuses on the transfer of knowledge to support the transition from special education to inclusive education. This transfer can be facilitated through direct collaborations between education institutions, intermediated transmission (when external institutions or organisations provide knowledge to education practitioners), as well as through various platforms. The PIL team including Justina Žutautaitė and Fabio Belafatti developed a collection of 16 promising policies and practices in this area from across Europe, as well as defined common success factors and challenges faced by policymakers, education practitioners and service providers implementing them. The study follows a qualitative approach based on interviews, desk research, and participatory methods (discussion with stakeholders to validate recommendations).
