EASPD promotes the views of over 20,000 social services and their umbrella associations to promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities through effective and high-quality service systems. In cooperation with a taskforce with Mental Health Europe, Inclusion Europe, ENIL, Coface Families Europe and the European Disability Forum, EASPD commissioned a study to identify challenges and opportunities that the concept of co-production provides for the electoral process. The PIL team including Lara Bezzina, Vojtech Hons and Elma PaulauskaitÄ— studied promising practices and gaps with an aim to understand what an inclusive electoral process means for a variety of stakeholders, and considered the role of co-production in developing alternative voting systems or facilitating participation in existing processes. PIL's Elma Paulauskaite and Vojtech Hons presented the study findings in a roundtable discussion at the European Parliament: Vote for all: how can co-production improve the political participation of persons with disabilities?
